Village needs • Questions for every candidate
A written plan for a developed village
Read the complete list below. Each point explains a village need and the work being asked for.
These are this website’s citizen-priority questions, not a candidate’s promises or an official panchayat plan. Candidates’ own submitted plans are shown separately.

Start with a written village plan
Ask every neighbourhood and hamlet about their needs, then prepare a plan for the full term. Clearly state the order of work, source of funding and responsible department.
Learning, cleanliness & local business
Every child completes school
Identify children who have left school. Families, schools and the panchayat should work together to bring them back to learning.
Improve learning outcomes
Regularly review whether children can read, write and understand mathematics, alongside school buildings. Provide extra learning support where needed.
A good village library
Provide books, a quiet reading space, internet and resources for competitive examinations.
English and computer learning
Run regular, practical classes for schoolchildren and young people.
Help with further education
Provide information and application help in the village for scholarships, college admission, training institutions and transport.
A clean village
Collect waste regularly from homes and shops. Establish lasting arrangements for separation, composting and proper disposal. Keep empty spaces from becoming dumping grounds.
Help local businesses grow
Help shopkeepers, craftspeople and service providers with better market spaces, promotion and an online presence.
Skills, health & livelihoods
Develop the government school as a model school
Follow up on teacher shortages. Prepare a written improvement plan with the school for its library, laboratory, sports equipment and learning standards.
Practical skills for young people
Ask young people about their interests and bring training in computers, repairs, agricultural equipment, tourism and other useful work.
Dependable healthcare
Monitor available health-centre services, medicines and regular check-ups. Have a clear arrangement to get seriously ill patients to a larger hospital in time.
Support women’s earnings
Support women’s groups beyond their formation: arrange product training, packaging and routes to sales.
Better value for farm produce
Enable farmers to sort, pack, store and sell produce together. Help establish groups or cooperatives for direct contact with buyers.
Strengthen livestock livelihoods
Work on milk collection, veterinary care, fodder information and arrangements to sell products.
A village employment programme
Record how many young people need work or training. Connect them with training institutions and employers, and publish the results every few months.
Heritage, facilities & public accounts
Preserve Mewar’s heritage
Document village history, old places, folk arts and the knowledge of elders, so the next generation knows its heritage and local people find opportunities.
Well-organised village festivals
Organise festivals and cultural programmes with space for local artists, shopkeepers and women’s groups.
Support older and disabled residents
Provide information about schemes, help with applications and easy access to public places.
A complete sports facility
Plan ground maintenance, sports equipment, regular coaching and competitions for girls and boys, beyond the promise of an empty field.
Public panchayat accounts
Display at the panchayat building and on the website how much money each project received, who was assigned the work, its deadline and current status. Let people ask questions directly at the gram sabha.
The final question for every candidate
“Which five of these tasks will you do first? Where will approval and funding come from for each task, and when will you tell the village about its progress?”Read candidates’ own plans
We do not want five years wasted on minor village tasks. We want to take the village forward.
